On Labor Day, Google Skips A Doodle Again

Today is Labor Day in the United States of America and like every year, Google doesn't do a special Google Logo, aka Doodle, for the day. Instead, they've been placing a small American flag approximately 80 pixels below the Google search box.

Here is a picture of the Google home page today, on Labor Day:

Google Labor Day

If you hover your mouse over the flag, Google tells you it is Labor Day. This is nothing new, they've been avoiding the labor day logo for years.

Bing, on the other hand, has a bold and striking theme:

Bing Labor Day

Dogpile chills out on Labor Day:

And we have our last BBQ grill all set up:

Ser Labor Day

The complaints are starting to funnel into the Google Web Search Help forums about the lack of American pride on Google's home page.
