Google's Gary Illyes: Hit By Fred? Read Our Quality Guidelines To Recover.

Google Fred Update

It has been some time since we covered the Google Fred algorithm update, which Google eventually confirmed. Again, we believe Fred targeted low value content around the dates of March 7th/8th. Our poll shows a significant number of SEOs were hit but this update.

Google told us in the past, if you were hit, then there are quality issues with your site. Yesterday, at the AMA with Google, Gary Illyes said that if you were hit, he recommends you simply read the quality guidelines section of the webmaster guidelines and make changes to your site based on those guidelines.

Gary would not talk more and he really shut down the conversation about the Google Fred update as quickly as he could.
