Google Prince Music Doodle

If you visit Google's home page on Google.com USA, you will see a purple Google logo that is raining. It is to honor Prince who unexpectedly passed away today at the age of 57.

TMZ was one of the first to report it saying "Prince's body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning."

Google has quickly posted a Google Doodle, a special logo, to honor his legacy. Purple Rain is one of many of his albums and it was released on June 25, 1984. Google went with that album as the way to commemorate his legacy.

Here is the animated GIF version:

Google did not post a logo when Michael Jackson died, but they did for his 51st birthday after his death. I believe this is the first time Google made a special doodle on the day someone has died.

The Doodle leads to a query on Google for [Prince Music, which spots Google's music carousel and other features.

Google said on Twitter "We are gathered here today To get through this thing called life."
