Yesterday, the SEO space got into a bit of a panic when Google suddenly dropped authorship images from their search results page.

Twitter Twitter and Google+ went made (I am just sharing one thread from each but there were tons).

It was a bug, Google didn't tell me why, but the faces from the search results, my face, your face, where authorship rich snippets would show, disappeared. It was missing from around 3:45pm to 5:05pm EST yesterday. It came back, we survived without our faces but it was a wow - factor for many.

Instead of seeing:

Yea, I know, the horror and confusion people must have had!
