Google App Indexing API Bug For iOS Apps

For iOS developers that have implemented the Google App Indexing API/SDK into their apps, they may be having a weird bug due to the Google SDK.

Specifically, if you open your iOS app in portrait mode. Then lock your iPhone screen by pressing the button that shuts off the screen. Then you turn your device in the landscape orientation and unlock the screen so the app shows up again. Now if you look at it the app is displayed in portrait, but the status bar is missing.

This was reported in a Google Webmaster Help thread a couple weeks ago.

Adam from Google confirmed the issue and said "thank you for reporting this issue, it has been escalated to the appropriate group."

I am not sure exactly when it will be fixed and why very few people noticed it but it seems to have been noticed now.

The Search Engine Roundtable app currently doesn't even go in landscape mode, so it is not an issue for us as far as I can tell.
