Google has released its annual Google Ads safety report and the big number that stands out to me is that Google removed 8.3 billion ads, which is up almost 63% from last year's number of 5.1 billion. Google did say that 99% of those were removed before serving the ad, thanks to Gemini.

Google also suspended about 25 million advertiser accounts, restricted 4.8 billion ads, 480 million web pages were blocked or restricted, 245 thousand publishers sites received actions and made over 35 policy updates in 2025.

Here are the high-level stats:

  • Blocked or removed 8.3 billion ads
  • Suspended 24.9 million advertiser accounts
  • Restricted 4.8 billion ads
  • Blocked or restricted 480 million web pages
  • Actioned 245,000 publisher sites
  • 35 Google Ads policy updates
