Google wrote, "In October 2026, Google will begin a limited pilot in the United States to allow ads for certain gun accessories such as bipods, sights, slings, mounts, and braces."
This "limited pilot" will run for six months, "as part of our Guns, gun parts, and related products policy under Dangerous products or services. Ads for all accessories that increase the safety of firearms continue to be allowed," Google added.
Starting October 2026, Google will run a six-month pilot in the US allowing ads for specific gun accessories like bipods and sights on Search. Ads for firearms and regulated parts remain strictly prohibited globally.
Google added they "will continue to strictly prohibit ads for firearms, ammunition, regulated parts, and for accessories that require a permit or license; or are regulated at the state or federal level. During the pilot, firearm accessories ads may be available on Search. These ads will continue to be prohibited on all other surfaces and outside the United States."
