Gemini Notebook Pages Spamming Google Search

It looks like spammers are taking advantage of Gemini Notebook, public NotebookLM, pages to spam Google with all sorts of content. This includes pages on sex toys, porn, peptides, coupon codes and more.

It looks like Google is up to indexing over 12,000 of these pages. Google can easily wipe them from its index but it has not yet.

This was spotted by Gagan Ghotra and reshared by Glenn Gabe yesterday and it seems to be just getting worse. Gagan Ghotra wrote on X, "black hat SEOs are leveraging public NotebookLMs being indexable by Google as a new parasite SEO tactic!" Glenn added, "I think these will disappear soonish... But yes, of course public Gemini Notebooks are being spammed! From peptides to discount codes to porn to apps." It was actually first spotted by Charles Floate who posted on X, "I just HACKED the AI Overview using Google itself."

This won't last long but it is sad to see how this happens often when Google launches these products. Google should have a process for this for new launches by now.
