Facebook Hacked: Well Kind Of...

Facebook HackedIf you want to minimize bad news as much as possible, you tell people about it minutes before they leave the office on a Friday evening.

Facebook announced they were compromised via a "zero-day" attack. There was a Java exploit in some of the Facebook employee's computers, which gave the computers access to hackers.

Facebook said this impacted a "handful of employees visited a mobile developer website that was compromised." The added that they "have found no evidence that Facebook user data was compromised." And they are working on doing better.

Despite Facebook announcing this on a Friday night, it still made a big splash in the media with tons of coverage but if this was announced on a Tuesday, forget about it.

Should you be concerned? I doubt it. But the web is becoming a more dangerous place every day.
