Funny: Automated Content Regeneration With Disclaimer For Google

regenerationOver the past few weeks, I've been seeing some sites post articles copied from other sites but place a disclaimer that they copied it. The disclaimers read:

Our editors found this article on this site using Google and regenerated it for our readers.

The "this site" hyperlinks to the site they copied it from.

I guess there is a new SEO tool out there that does this and by linking to the site, they find it to be "white hat" maybe?

Ruud Hein tweeted it and it caught Google's Matt Cutts eye, where Matt replied "I made it three words in before I saw an error. Two words in if you count the first hyphenated part as one word." He then CCed the official Google Webmaster Central Twitter account to take a look.

If you Google the phrase you will see tons of pages come up for the phrase. Here is one example of a story that does this, but I see a lot of this in forums and low quality blogs.

It is nice that sites that are regenerating content are putting up a disclaimer, but I doubt it will benefit your site in the long run by just copying and pasting articles from other sites to your site.
