Barry Adams

This is part of the say something nice about an SEO/SEM series - feel free to nominate someone over here.

Barry Adams, 41 years old, lives in Holywood just outside Belfast in Northern Ireland with his family. Barry is well known in the industry for sharing his knowledge and experience in SEO since 1998. He has been around for a long time and has helped countless people.

Barry is almost always first to call out Google for doing something he feels is not good for the searcher and not good for the webmaster or publisher. He is also very quick to set the record straight when someone says something incorrect about search or SEO. He is always seeking the truth and always wants those to be better.

Paul Cawley said this about Barry Adams:

It's not often you get to meet someone that's as generous with their time, their knowledge or their exceptional skills as Barry.

Whether it's a deep dive on technical content or a more relaxed chat about the future of marketing, you always leave a conversation with Barry feeling more knowledgeable, better informed and knowing you've spoken to someone that genuinely cares. To see and experience him giving that time so freely, with no expectation of return from those he's helpful to, is incredibly rare and utterly fantastic to see.

Incredible knowledge, true brilliance at what he does, an insatiable appetite to continually improve, one of the funniest people you'd ever chat to and all packaged in a humble facade makes Barry one of the few individuals that actually live up to term inspirational.

Barry Adams Bio: Barry Adams has building and ranking websites since 1998. Over the years he's honed his skills in a wide range of businesses, from small agencies to Fortune 500 multinationals. In 2014 founded specialized consultancy Polemic Digital, delivering specialized SEO services to international business clients and media organizations. In 2016 his work was recognized with two UK Search Awards, including Best Small SEO Agency.

Favorite thing about the SEO community? My favourite thing about the SEO industry is the willingness to help others. From freely offering SEO advice to helping out SEOs with personal struggles, the industry is always there to offer support, guidance, and hands-on help.

One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? One piece of advice: Be honest and true, and listen to your peers.

Favorite things in general? My favourite thing to do is go to Ulster Rugby matches. I'm a huge Ulster Rugby supporter and season-ticket holder. We try to get to every home game, though with the amount of travel I do it's proving challenging!

What you want to be known for in the SEO space? I'd like to be known for my unvarnished and honest opinions on SEO, as well as being a specialist in technical SEO and news SEO.
