Poll: Were You Impacted By The Google Farmer Update?

Google Content Farm AlgorithmThursday afternoon, the Google Farmer Update touched down and impacted a nice number of sites out there. In fact, Google claimed about 12% of the search results were changed. So webmasters and SEOs began going to the forums seeking support and I hope they are getting the support they need.

A Sphinn thread, asks if you were hit. I am curious, if you were impacted by the Google Farmer update.

If so, was it a positive or negative impact?

Please take my anonymous poll and have your friends take my poll as well.

It was not rolled out in Germany yet so I still have to see. I run several vBulletin Forums with UGC so I am not yet sure if it will hit me or not

The great news for me is that my competitors were hit harder than me. For the last 6 months I've spent the time and money investing in "white hat" link building strategies instead of spammy black hat techniques that my competitors were doing after doing a little research. But since the update I've bumped up and they've bumped down. Doing things right the first time has really paid off so far.

I could say it affected the rank of our site -- not the traffic aspect. We used to rank 13th now we're way behiiiiiind the search results and the thing is, sites that copied our content, ranked higher than ours in SERPs. =( What should we do?

None of clients or my sites were effected ...

For example www.daniweb.com was hit very hard by the update which is a 100% UGC Forum with great content. So I am a little nervous :)

Well, Panda update has hurt MAJORITY of the sites. Even those @ big writing communities like BrightHub.com About.com eHow.com ezinearticles.com have been cribbing about up to 90% drop in rankings - I'm wondering who the heck is really benefiting, if the big guns are falling apart?
