Google NYC Stairwell Mural

Chris Schrier from Google posted a picture of one of the stairwells at Google's New York City office. You can see it was painted by some Google artist or something. It is a Google stairwell mural.

However, the red box in the middle doesn't really go with the black and white theme.

What is the symbolizing behind this mural? Buildings, pyramids, mountains, coins, fish, etc?

Chris posted this on Google+.

This post is part of our daily Search Photo of the Day column, where we find fun and interesting photos related to the search industry and share them with our readers.

Perhaps the red box symbolizes Google+'s "circle" philosophy? Regardless of what it means- it's still cool to have art randomly throughout the office. It gives the workplace some character.

May be through this mural, Googler was trying to convey that Google has information about almost everything. From past, present to future, from land, water to air. etc.

Does it need to have a meaning, maybe someone thought it looked cool?

The red box is a fire thing?

The image appears as though someones child, or a school field-trip took advantage of a wall, within the stair-well. No one will ever see it, right! Well - I appreciate the children who took their time to do this. Thank You!
