Google: We Are Revamping Webmaster Tools Notifications

Google Webmaster ToolsI spotted a thread at the Google Webmaster Help forums where Google said they have started revamping all the the messages/notifications sent via Google Webmaster Tools.

Google's John Mueller said this in response to a webmaster receiving a delayed notification. John explained that they paused some of the notifications during the process of this notification revamp.

Here is how John worded it:

Recently we've started revamping all of the messages that we send to the notification console and via email and have paused email delivery of these while they're being reviewed. I believe this would have included the messages that were recently sent to your Webmaster Tools account. Sorry for the confusion in this regard.

I am not sure if this is just a technical revamp or a complete revamp on how Google sends and manages these notifications?

Update: John told me, "We're just making things a bit cleaner and more consistent - nothing crazy." Forum discussion at Google Webmaster Help.

04.12.2012 GWMT verification was revoked. We didn’t do any changes by our end. After verifying our www. Version (GWMT) another time, we did start to receive answers of old penguin related reconsideration requests...traffic went down 50% again after the BUG catches us, that must be a bad G joke..We did recover after 3 month of investing money and time, explain to G our situation, now after this verification BUG, we tanked again... don’t see feature in making business based on G, now stopped all adwords advertisements with G... and looking for other lead generator, this is insane and unreasonable, small business is tanking...

I've been waiting 60 days for our Google trusted store seal to populate. Yesterday I spoke to the CTO of 3dcart who was going to reach out to Google. Today I got an email from Google, my shopping feeds have been dropped because my sites not verified. I've run this eCommerce site for 10 years. I check GWT weekly and last week everything was normal. I just logged into GWT (6:00PM CST 12/6/12) and our site was cloned with a "not verified" message and no data in the cloned site - I deleted the cloned site The old site was verified but showed no external links (450,000 + when I checked last week) nor any internal links and no site maps. I added the site map and then went to the Google Merchant Center where the site wasn't verified when I know it's been verified since march of 2010 Ironically the in google Merchant Center wanted me to use to verify was identical to what was already installed in the sites header. I didn't even bother to FTP the code, just clicked "verify" and got the green light. Looks to me like it's a TOTAL revamp? Maybe "shaking the tree"? Trying to get rid of old rotting sites? Any input would be welcome - thank you
