Reporting Delay In Google Webmaster Tools Search Queries

Google Webmaster ToolsThe forums are getting restless over a Google Webmaster Tools reporting delay, specifically with the search queries report.

According to the reports in both WebmasterWorld and Google Webmaster Help, the reports have not updated in seven-days! Yes, since September 23rd, 2013 the data in the search queries report has not been updated.

I can confirm the issue with my own sites:

Google Webmaster Tools Query Data Delay

Why? Possibly a bug or maybe a new feature being rolled out soon?

We know that Google promised to give us one years worth of data for the search query report. We also know virtually 100% of search query referrer data has been stolen from us. So maybe Google has something in the works? Or maybe it is just a typical Google reporting delay?

Most of Google's Top Contributors and Google representatives who would be on top of this are at Google this week for the Top Contributors summit. So maybe they are unaware of the issue and have not reported it yet to be fixed?

Forum discussion at WebmasterWorld and Google Webmaster Help.

Update: John Mueller from Google responded saying:

Thanks for posting, everyone! The team is aware of the problem and working on speeding that data back up again. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Can you imagine if they were unaware? This happens from time to time, probably a preemptive measure given the 'Not Provided' change and everything that's happened in the last 14 days, noted in the past when report delays have occurred its usually due to some overhauling of the system somewhere. Would be mighty surprised if it wasn't back reporting in the next 48 hours

Thanks for this post. I have noticed this issue and tried to find the answers during last days. Now I feel better knowing that I'm not alone :)

The "Structured Data" numbers under "Search Appearance" have been slow to update, too, at least for my site.

Yep, me too. Was getting worried. No PageRank update in months and now a delayed search query update. Is this behavior normal from Google?

Yes right.I think the crawling area is going fine but the search queries and some other areas are lagging behind in number of days about 7 days behind.

I noticed this morning, looks like they updated some search query data, today I was able see queries for September 24th and 25th too. Yesterday it just stopped at September 23rd. Could it be they are planning to keep a one week delay? Webmaster Tools were awfully slow today.

I was wondering why the search updates I saw was on the 23rd of Sept, I thought it was peculiar to my site
