Google+ Vic Gundotra SMX KeynoteLast night, Danny Sullivan interviewed Google+'s Vic Gundotra during the SMX Social Media Keynote in Las Vegas.

What did we learn? The biggest thing going through the community about the interview is that he stopped using Twitter abruptly in July 2011 only because "his boss" asked him to stop using Twitter.

Outside of that, Vic kept talking about the growth of Google+, some of the new features and how Google+ helps marketers make more money.

Here is the video, which was broadcasted live last night over Google+ Hangouts:

Matt McGee posted the live blog version as well.

Helps marketers make more money until google decides to steal it off of them he means. Stay away from new google stuff if you use it to make money. Google wants all that for itself so will build it up and then steal it. Sound familiar?

That had to be one of the most embarrassing but entertaining live blogs I have ever watched. Danny doing the word association was so funny! Danny : Twitter Vic : ... *Crickets* ... Danny : Facebook Vic : .... *Crickets* .... Danny : This isn't going to be much fun. Actually convinced me that I need to delete my G+ account. Which I did. At least some good came from it.

Wow, what a waste of my time, painfully embarrassing. Danny Sullivan has got to be paid for doing this sh*ty type of work and defending Google at all costs. There's no other reason. It's torture. P.S. Google isn't above this, they pay lots of formers politicians and FTC lawyers to defend Google in newspapers and websites without stating the $ relationship.

Watch from the 59 minute mark.. It gets extremely painful and embarrassing. I was actually embarrassed for Vic. He seems like a nice guy but you can tell Larry page has made demands on Vic that Vic will not be able to deliver. The kids don't want to use G+. Why would they it is a cold and lifeless place. Just like everything Google touches these days.
