Most SEOs probably won't care about this but Google announced they added easier domain name verification with Go Daddy and eNom. Also, BlueHost is coming in the near future.
Google added a domain name verification option to verify with domain name provider. Here is an animated screen shot:

It is found under the "alternative" verification options and maybe many will use it but not until it is adopted by more domain name providers. If you are a domain name provider and want to be included, fill out this form.

Interesting to see the order of the 'Google Analytics' and the 'HTML tag' switch between your screen shots, I guess split testing everything!

Interesting how the animated screenshot moves over a bit towards top right. Must be a conspiracy.Does it mean one company leans more right than the other or does the fact that it moves up a bit mean that one is superior? WHAT DOES IT MEAN? What games are you playing Berry? Why can't everything just be perfect?

I took the screen shots from Google's blog post.
