Android KitKatWhen I saw the picture on Sundar Pichai's Google+ post of an Android Statue that was a KitKat, I thought it was some weird joke. I was wrong, it is the code name for the next version of Android, Android 4.4 named KitKat.

Don't believe me? See android.com/kitkat or hersheys.com/kitkat or kitkat.com. It is real. Why Hersheys?

I really don't know but according to the BBC, there was no money exchanged by the two brands. Personally, I don't like the move but what do I know about marketing.

Google is really rolling with the name, check out this hilarious video:

Anyway, for more on this next version of Android and the name for it, see Techmeme.

Wow, that's one of the dumbest things I've seen in a long time. It doesn't make any sense, they didn't do this with other releases. Who in marketing came up with this? Were they high out of their minds and decided it would be funny to see if anyone would fall for it? How can you take these companies seriously when they get sucked into doing something so dumb? I like KitKat and I like Android, together, not so much.

What a name KitKat for an Android phone name. I guess the Android maker has ran out of name
