Google China seems to be highlighting the query term in the search results in red, instead of just bolding the query term, like was done in the past. For example, a search on search engine roundtable at Google China returns all matches of the keyword phrase on the page in red. Here is a screen capture:
Let's compare this to a search at Google.com:
Wonder why Google China is going with the red highlights, as opposed to the normal bolding highlighting?

I think its always done that - I always assumed its because bold doesn't work quite as well with Chinese characters. For example a search for the city Luoyang (even on Google.co.uk): http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3GGGL_enGB230GB230&q=%E6%B4%9B%E9%98%B3&btnG=Search&meta=

Jamie is completely right: Google China has never highlighted query terms in bold caracters, because it's unreadable.

So this is old? Really never noticed it and I am sure I did queries on Google China before...

I think its old, although maybe its only just started doing it for English queries? Pretty sure its always been like that for Chinese though!
