January 2008 Google Toolbar PageRank Update

Today we are having our first Google Toolbar PageRank update of 2008. At least there are dozens and dozens of reports that PageRank scores on the 72.14.25.x data center has been updated.

What does this mean to you? To your rankings? Nothing.

More on that on Why do some SEOs want toolbar PageRank to go away.

In any event, for many Toolbar PageRank is a prestige thing. So congrats if your PageRank score went up. Sorry if it went down.

Mine went down it seems, quite shocking actually, I will wait a couple of days to see if it rises, I was PR2 and it seems to have dropped to PR0 yesterday, I was not doing anything wrong though, so it may be authentic PR update...I hope.

Thanks,
Fabien

Mine did nothing. Still 0. How many links do you have to have to get a boost???

How can I test my website with that datacenter?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Rustybrick, is there any confirmation of this aside from those threads? I mean, does anyone have a blog post from any site that was made on or after October 8th (which was when the last snapshot was taken)? None of the blogs I check have. For instance, I am pretty sure that Matt Cutts will not have this post be PR0 once the PR update happens:

http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/suggested-schwag-triple-tap-ac-adapters/

Or this post from this site made on Oct 10th:

http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/014990.html

When I check the DC's in the range that was suggested for both of those I see zero (not null, btw, white not gray) across the board.

No confirmation, Google rarely confirms those updates. But by the volume of reports, it seems Google did push out some new PageRank numbers in the toolbar.

I am now hearing reports that there has been a rollback of that PageRank update.

Something is going on. My article directory is a PR0 at the moment. It was a PR5, the penalized to a PR3. I checked in the 72.14.25.X DC and others and they show all show 0.

None of my other sites have gone up or down, so I will be watching the DC's today for movement.

The changes are on again, my site has gone up to a much more respectable 5/10.

Yeah, see them now, on again, off again.

Seems to be on and am getting PR 0.

2 of my sites are showing PR3 (from PR 0) and one site went down from PR6 to PR5 so it could be a real update...or?

one of our sites went from 6 to a 5.

My Blog went up from 4 to 6 now. Has Google finished updating? Or there would be changes in next days?

I noticed many of my websites went up in PR. It seems, however, that most sites didn't go up much compared to past updates.

My blog for my store that I started on Sept 1st jumped up to 2 today. My other blogs have not changed.

Lost most of my inner PR2 rank to PR0 and only blog gained a PR2.

only my blog (wordpress platform)was affected. rest of all websites are still same PR.
too much changes daily for blog are not good for google. i think

my make money online blog is still at zero after it was penalized. i was hoping to see it at 4 again in this recent update.ill wait for few more days to see that.. but my other blogs got page ranks now..

My site went from 3 to 0. And you'd think more quality content and quality links were a sure thing to boost it. Now we gotta wait another half year to see what happens. At least now we know that we can't drop during the next update since we're PR0. :(

My site is a new one ,and now homepage has a PR0, But Inner pages had PR 5 and PR4..

Mine went down again. I was PR4 before October. I began to write paid posts and I was selling links. It went down to PR3. I could understand that and I just took out the links. Now I was making paid posts and it went down to PR0.
I hope it won't hurt my blog that much and I can continue to make money of it.

The directory page of my site http://www.astra-design.com/directory/ went down from PR4 to PR0, but i did nothing wrong. What shall we do now, just wait?

I've heard that there was a PR Update, but I still can't believe it, because none of my 7 sites has moved. Nothing.

My site get more BL with the same PR.

I had 4 sites go from 0 to PR 2-3. Surprisingly some of these sites have few quality links pointing at them. The sites are relatively new as well late October to early November.

Gawd, mine had gone to N/A too, I hate the fact that they have to reduce our PR’s just because we monetize our blogs. What’s the catch anyway? They do the same thing, too I guess on their ‘other’ websites perhaps. Damnn, it makes me go all crazy

This pr update was nothing for me, i gained page rank 0 for first time, waiting for next update.

My site went from pr4 to pr3, than on the next update from pr3 to pr0 (last year) No changes this year, still pr0. I don't sell links, no ppp nothing.

My site dropped from a PR4 to a PR2

My pr3 went to 0:( It is annoying:( wahh.. I hope I can get my pR back one day:) hehe.. have a great Tuesday!

My PR went down, I beleive the value that article directories pass on has been reduced.

I saw a Chinese Blog from PR 0 To PR 7, Only 3 month. But My website http://www.amandaiec.com is still PR 0.
