Today, Google is remembering one of the greatest painters to live on his 407th birthday, Rembrandt van Rijn. Google's Doodle, their special Google Logo, has a Rembrandt van Rijn self-portrait.

Here is a picture of the Self Portrait with Beret and Turned-Up Collar (1659) by Rembrandt as the Google Logo today on Google worldwide:

The name Rembrandt is known by virtually everyone, there will likely be no one who won't recognize the name or the self-portrait on Google today. But most people may have not known today was his birthday. He was born in 1606 in Leiden, Dutch Republic (now Netherlands) and died at the age of 63 on October 4, 1669in Amsterdam, Dutch Republic (now Netherlands).

He is known as one of the most influential and greatest artists of all time. His works, paintings and prints are some of the most recognizable.

I am a bit surprised the Google Doodle is virtually a replica of the self-portrait but I am sure there is a story about it.
