Louisa May Alcott Google Logo

Today on the Google home page is a special Google logo or Doodle for the 184th birthday of Louisa May Alcott.

Louisa May Alcott was a novelist, most well-known for her title Little Women published 1868. The book was both loved and criticized in its time.

She was an abolitionist and a feminist who was born on November 29, 1832 in Germantown, Pennsylvania and passed at the age of 55 on March 6, 1888 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Google Doodle portrays "Beth, Jo, Amy, and Meg March, as well as Jo's best friend Laurie, their neighbor. The March family of Little Women was based on Alcott's own, and the coltish Jo was Louisa's vision of herself: strewing manuscript pages in her wake, charging ahead with the courage of her convictions, and cherishing her family above all."

It was designed by Doodler Sophie Diao.
