A couple WebmasterWorld threads sum it up, when talking about the how one would even bring up the impact to one's traffic when so many lives are lost.

Sorry for starting such a sad thread which could look like disrespectful of what it is happening in Japan. However I am here to talk about the effect of such a terrible news on Google and other search engine traffic.

Is anyone experiencing traffic drop because of such a news?

Truth is, it appears that many sites have seen a major decline in traffic around the time of the Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan.

To me, it is a bit upsetting to see a thread like this. Some would look at their traffic and whatever the decline and money loss, think how much worse someone in Japan who was impacted by the event has it. I know many do and they still need to "get back to business" but it is sad for me to read these threads.

I do want to pay my respects to our readers who were directly hurt by this horrible natural disaster. I wish you, your families and friends all the best and support.

As I said, there are still two threads at WebmasterWorld on the traffic drop around the time of the Japanse quake.

People are seeing 8 percent drops in traffic but that is not uncommon during times like these.
