In May, Google told us finally that there are more mobile vs desktop searches in the US and Japan, plus 8 other countries. But Google didn't say more. So we know mobile is overtaking desktop in many ways.

Today at London Tech Week, Google's Managing Director and VP, UK-Ireland Sales & Operations, said on stage that more than half of all UK searches are done via mobile and more than half of all YouTube video views are on mobile.

So not only has mobile surpassed desktop in UK searches but also in YouTube video views.

Dan Cobley, who worked at Google for some time, was at the event and posted this on Google+:

More than half of all UK searches and YouTube video views now happen on mobile.

Mobile us surging, even with video! Yes, Gary Illyes from Google said mobile is huge with video at SMX Advanced, but this is a huge stat to have on record from Google.
