A week ago we reported on chatters and signals of a Google search ranking algorithm update. That died down a bit shortly after we wrote about it but over the past couple days I am seeing chatter and signals of another Google update. I don't think this is a super massive update but it might be specifically targeting niches or just a test or something. It is hard to say at this point.
The ongoing WebmasterWorld thread has some chatter, it isn't a ton. There is very little chatter in the black hat communities as well, so the chatter I'd call somewhat limited at this point. Here are some of the things SEOs are saying in the forums about this:
My rankings have now gone back to pre-update last night/this morning and I haven't changed a thing - the changes in my niche must have just been the usual update 'shuffle'
Looks like the serps reverted me to the wrong page again. Hoping it's a temporary flip-flop, we'll see.
Seeing minimal ranking changes today, but traffic has fallen off a cliff. Definitely not correlating, must have lost something in the long tail.

So there is chatter and the chatter is starting to heat up a bit this morning. We will keep an eye on it.
