Google's John Mueller said in a Google+ hangout this morning at the 5:40 mark that Google may show where your page was shown in the search results page. Specifically if you were in the featured snippets box or AMP page carousel or something like that.
John said this would help webmasters "have a little bit of insight into where you were specifically showing up."
He added that this isn't coming soon and they are just thinking about this but it is something that they are clearly thinking about.
Here is what John said:
I don’t see that happening very quickly but we’re looking into making it easier to split it up like where specifically on the results page you are showing up. So if you were showing up in the featured snippet or maybe as an AMP page in the AMP carousel. That you kind of have a little bit of insight into where you were specifically showing up. But I don’t think we would do that for all elements on the search results page. So, I don’t know for example that we would split out images in the universal results or maybe in the news box. I don’t know if that makes sense to actually split it out separately.
