The Google Search App for iOS and Android has removed the top quick links buttons from the screen. I guess it wasn't used much. The screen shots on the Google Play and iTunes stores still show them there but here is what use to be there:

Now if you open the search app, they are gone:

Andy B. Google's Search & Assistant Community Manager said in a Google Web Search Help thread that it was removed on purpose, it is not a bug. He wrote:

Andy from Google here - first of all, many thanks for your reports and feedback. I wanted to first confirm that this is an intentional feature change. As we move to the new feed experience for the Search app, which makes it easier than ever to discover and explore what matters to you, we've decided to remove the shortcuts feature.

We're constantly working to improve the experience though, so please continue to leave in-app feedback.

Personally, I never used the feature and I suspect most people did not. Although, Google made a big deal of them when they launched the feature.
