Weather Added To Google News But...

Google News has recently added a "weather" box to the right side bar. Here is a picture of the Google News homepage with the new weather box.

Most newspapers do show the weather in a prime location, so I guess this is a nice touch. However, in this case, there are some issues.

There is one Google News Help thread complaining that it is showing him weather in Phoenix, when in fact, the user is in Las Vegas. And another Google News Help thread with a complain that it should show the user the weather in Celsius and not Fahrenheit and there is no apparent way to change it.

In both threads, Archi Sarkar-Goyal from Google replied to both threads with the same message:

Thanks for reporting this. We are looking into it.
