Last week, news broke that Google's search volume is now dominated by mobile searches. Over 50% of all of Google's queries worldwide is now done on mobile devices.

This was the case in the US and several other countries back in May 2015 but now this is the case globally. Meaning, overall, across all countries, there are more people searching in Google on their mobile devices than on desktop.

I suspect this is typed searches, voice searches, app specific searches and other mobile related queries that Google takes into this figure.

Mobile is clearly incredibly important and of growing importance, so if you have not gone mobile friendly - do it. If you are not thinking about Apps and App Indexing, get thinking.

John Mueller from Google said on Google+:

More than half of Google's searches are now coming from mobile. If you haven't made your site (or your client's sites) mobile-friendly, you're ignoring a lot of potential users.
