Here is a small but interesting change Google is testing for the local pack map in the search results. Sergey Alakov posted a screen shot of it on Twitter showing a small toggle button in the map image that lets you expand the map fully.

I personally don't believe I ever saw this and I am not able to replicate this myself but it is a nice little feature that I think might stick and be used by searchers.
