Google: Link Wheels & Web 2.0 Google Tricks Probably Don't Work

Google Trick

John Mueller from Google told one SEO on a Reddit thread that using "web 2.0 tricks" or "link wheeling" probably doesn't work with Google these days. To be honest, I don't fully understand the tactic because it was worded as "Is Web 2.0 trick working in 2018 ? how you create link wheeling?"

A link wheel is basically the idea of creating a pattern of links which flow from one website to another which would finally link to your main website. You can Google it to fine lots of spammy sites talking about it and how it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Google's John Mueller responded to the question saying "Probably not."

Either way, if you are looking for ways to manipulate Google, it might make sense not to ask about it in a public forum setting.

Do link wheels still work for you? Let us know in the comments or at the Reddit thread.
