Google Forgets Your Query Between VerticalsA Google Web Search Help thread has confirmed reports of a bug that creeps on on Google every now and then.

In short, go to Google.com, enter your query. Then click on the "news" or "images" link at the top. Google will drop the query that you entered and give you the home page of that service.

It can be a "feature" but Googler Sarah said it seems to be a bug:

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I was able to get the same result from clicking on "News." I'm on it. :)
