Google Intrusive Interstitials Mobile Penalty Is At The Page Level Only

The big news from last week was the new Google penalty coming January 10, 2017 for intrusive mobile interstitials. Google gave examples but said there won't be a testing tool for this penalty.

Google said this weekend that the interstitial mobile penalty will be on a page-by-page basis.

Gary Illyes from Google said this on Twitter, saying "the algorithm affects individual pages, not whole sites."

I believe that was what everyone thought, same as with the mobile ranking boost. But it is good to have it written by a Googler.
