Google announced on their blog yesterday that Google Analytics turned 10 years old. Yep, Google relaunched Urchin, the awesome analytics software they purchased in March 2005 on November 13, 2005 (we covered it then).

Back in May of this year, we showed you a 10 year reunion picture of the old Urchin team when they came back to visit Google.

It is just amazing to see how far analytics has come (of course, with the exception of taking away basic keyword data). All of this is for free, with the caveat of Google owning your data. :)

Google also posted a picture of a cupcake to celebrate:

Thing is, Google Analytics will just keep getting better. I know many businesses that even push in their business data from their custom systems directly into Google Analytics as their own business dashboards.
