Google AdSense: Block Enhanced Text Ads & Expandable Ads

Google AdSense logoGoogle AdSense quietly added two new ad serving block options to the Allow & Block Ads section of your AdSense console. You can now decide if want to allow or block enhanced text ads and/or expandable ads.

  • Enhanced Text Ads: Show performance-enhancing features on text ads. Choose whether or not you want to display text ads with performance-enhancing features such as product images, advertiser images, or clickable arrow icons, etc.
  • Expandable Ads: Show ads that expand beyond the ad unit size following a user-initiated action. Choose whether or not you want to display rich media ads that can expand beyond the original size of the ad unit, following a user-initiated action. Examples of expandable ads include, but are not limited to, ads that expand to stream a movie trailer, show video game clips, or display various views of an item for sale.

The previous version, as we captured here did not have those two additional options. Now they do:
