That's SEO: Turning Transactional Queries Into Brand Queries On Google

Mar 19, 2015 - 7:53 am 1 by

You know you are a good SEO when you are able to make Google think that an informational or transactional query should result in your brand showing up in the knowledge graph section of the search results page.

That is exactly what Kars4Kids did for the search query [car donation]:

click for full size

You see the right top, "see results about" and if you click on it, it takes you to the navigational/brand query for the Kars4Kids brand. This was spotted b Wendy Kirwan on Twitter.

Now that is excellent SEO or maybe marketing. I mean, when I think of car donations in the US, I do think of Kars4Kids, those radio commericals ringing through my head:

Maybe based on search volume, those searching for car donations also often search for Kars4Kids? I am not sure but this is an example of a company that is doing it right, I think, with offline marketing to influence online marketing.

We know Google doesn't want knowledge graph results to show brands but that is more with answers. This seems different.

Do you disagree?
