Google Asking AdSense Publishers To Testify in Congress?

A WebmasterWorld thread reports that some publishers are receiving email requests from Google or the IAB asking them if they would like to go to Washington, D.C. to testify in front of the U.S. Congress.

The email's subject line is, "Invitation to share your AdSense experience in Washington D.C."

I personally did not receive this email, nor could I find a transcript of the email on the internet. The person who received it said, Google is "inviting them to share your AdSense experience in Washington D.C. by providing testimony to Congress." Another person said it is not Google sending out the email but rather the IAB, Interactive Advertising Bureau. One member explained, "It's an email that members of IAB are sending out, from BurstMedia to Valueclick. There will be a networking reception and dinner at the Google offices in Washington, D.C."

Another person said he attended last year:

A similar "small publisher fly-in" was held last year. I attended and, although tramping around Capitol Hill is not a novelty to me, I enjoyed it. For me, the most enjoyable aspect was meeting other publishers.

I highly recommend this to anyone who can take time to go. I can't do it this year because it conflicts with something else, but it is definitely worthwhile.
