Google Pushes Living Stories To Publishers Via WordPress Plugin

In February of this year, Google released code to help facilitate their push for Living Stories on Google News. As I explained then, a Living Story can be thought of as "instead of writing an article for each new event that happens on a certain topic, you update an existing story with the latest information."

Late last week, Google made their second push by announced a WordPress plugin to help facilitate publishers in creating these Living Story pages. From what I hear in the back channels, the plugin is a horror to install on existing WordPress blogs that already has serious customization.

A Google News Help thread asks the obvious question many are asking, did you try it yet? If so, then maybe I will, but you first.

Has anyone tried it on Wordpress Beta 3.1 and got is working satisfactorily?

There are no responses to the thread. At least you should have some Googlers in there helping these publishers along the way, especially since this living stories concept has no gone all that far yet. I agree, I do like the idea of living stories, but someone really needs to make sure publishers get it.
