New Way to Submit Content to Google?

Nov 1, 2005 - 8:21 am 3 by

Why I was away, Google posted a blog entry named Rumor of the day. The whole entry was very short, so I will quote it here;

You may have seen stories today reporting on a new product that we're testing, and speculating about our plans. Here's what's really going on. We are testing a new way for content owners to submit their content to Google, which we hope will complement existing methods such as our web crawl and Google Sitemaps. We think it's an exciting product, and we'll let you know when there's more news.

Testing a new way for content owners to submit their content to Google... Makes you think, doesn't it? Currently a Search Engine Watch Forums thread named Submit Content To Google is at the beginning of thinking of what Google may mean exactly.

Google has the normal crawl process, they have AdWords, and they now have AdSense. Recently they came out with Google Reader and RSS reader. So maybe some form of RSS submission service? Maybe a pay for inclusion process? Maybe it is talking more about ways for print publishers to submit, or maybe video, flash, etc.? This should make for a speculative thread.
