Google France Office Too Bland?

Google France Lobby

Rupert Breheny, A Googler who I think works in the Zurich office, paid a visit to Google's France office the other day and took some pictures. My question is why does Google's France office stand out as looking under nourished compared to the other offices. This looks like a basic doctor's office with a funky couch, Google TV, beverage cooler and a poster on the wall.

He posted this picture on his Google+ account for all to see.

So any ideas? Is it a really small office?

It's tastefully French. And while I can revile the French for many things, including socialism and entitlement programs, their cultural tastes may mandate that Google holds back from its typical neo-tech-future gaudiness

Well not sure I would call it tastefull the couch and the chairs clash for one. Having been in the london office (victoria) it was a rather ho hum standard office fit out.

I could picture the sofa to be of a 'googley taste', the chairs however despite tastefully french do not meet my high 'amazing-googley-office' expectations :)

can you say "Clash"?? One or the other, I would choose the other! I like the sofa for a 'Google' office. I don't think it should look 'French' when Google is an American company! Liven it up! I would use the sofa as inspiration and make it Quirky!

The answer is obviously, Google spent all the money paying fines to the French government and fighting court cases an is not willing to sink any more money into the country providing a fancy office space for its French staff.
