There is an excellent thread at WebmasterWorld just getting started on the topic of acquiring one way links.
Philip Terry, who started the thread, wanted to come up with a list of "bargaining chips" he can use to successfully acquire one way links from sites when he asks for links. He said:
The objective here is to be able to negotiate a one way link on the phone *without* them asking for a link back.
So now link building are offering advice on various lines you can use as a "bargaining chip" when asking for links.
Here are some of those suggestions from the thread:
- I give you a referral if you give me a link...
- I give you exclusivity in an area for the referrals if you give me a link...
- I place your number and company name on my directory if you give me a link...
- Your site is broken and here is how to fix it...
- I will write an article for you on the subject of your choice if you give me a link...
- I'm running a competition for people in your niche - would you mind advertising it...
