Google Bing Link Building ChipsThere is an excellent thread at WebmasterWorld just getting started on the topic of acquiring one way links.

Philip Terry, who started the thread, wanted to come up with a list of "bargaining chips" he can use to successfully acquire one way links from sites when he asks for links. He said:

The objective here is to be able to negotiate a one way link on the phone *without* them asking for a link back.

So now link building are offering advice on various lines you can use as a "bargaining chip" when asking for links.

Here are some of those suggestions from the thread:

  • I give you a referral if you give me a link...
  • I give you exclusivity in an area for the referrals if you give me a link...
  • I place your number and company name on my directory if you give me a link...
  • Your site is broken and here is how to fix it...
  • I will write an article for you on the subject of your choice if you give me a link...
  • I'm running a competition for people in your niche - would you mind advertising it...

Do you have any ideas?
