Google To Enable Multiple Account Administering Of Maps Listings?

Google Places LogoFor years, the topic of allowing multiple accounts to manage a Google Place listing has been a hot and often requested feature.

The issue comes up often where someone claimed a listing but needs to transfer or also delegate permission for someone else to manage a business listing within Google Maps / Google Places.

Well, it might be coming soon - maybe?

A Google Places Help thread has Joel H. from Google said "We'd like to have a great interfacing for sharing listing between multiple accounts, but have no details to share yet."

Of course, Joel is not saying much here but he is alluding to it being a possibility in the future. How soon? I am not sure but we can be hopeful.

I think it will be rather not that soon. Usually when Googlers say they don't have any details to share yet, it usually could be translated into human language like "we are discussing the idea and working on detailing it, but however, it is still far from actual implementation." I think this answer means it will be at least a few months from now, although if Bing Business Portal gets more popular, it could enhance the process. I truly hope it will be sooner than later.

The Google Local Business Referrals (LBR) program's compensation did not motivate a lot of people.  But if two Google accounts could control one LBL, many SEO's targeting SMB's would collect their data for Google Maps and educate them about other Google products.
