Google Hotel Finder LogoGoogle has expanded their hotel search tool, Google Hotel Finder, globally.

A Google Web Search Help thread has an update on the search service from Googler, Jacqueline, who said:

Good news! We've expanded the Hotel Finder experiment to include hotels around the world. It's still in English only with hotel prices in US dollars, but I know a few of you will be glad to hear this news :)

So now, you can search for hotels in London and get listings. But you must keep in mind that the hotel listings are in US dollars and are still in English only. But if you are an American traveler, this can come in handy.

So now you can use it to book a hotel for SMX Israel in Jerusalem, Israel - note, the Inbal Hotel is the conference hotel and is listed there.

This is great that Google are offering a global service for a hotel finder.   With so many 'compare' websites, I think Google could use this as a stepping stone to create their own 'compare' results. This would have a dramatic effect on the SERP if they pursued with an idea like this and would show how Google want to continually dominate all competitive markets on the internet.   Hopefully it won’t get to this stage! I think the hotel service is very good.
