6 New Data Types Now Supported By Google's Data Highlighter Rich Snippet Tool

Google Data HighlighterThe Google Data Highlighter tool, which initially launched in December with support for just marking up pages that had event data, now has quietly added six more data support types.

+Kenichi Suzuki notified me of this change after spotting the additional data types listed on the data highlighter help page.

Like I said, previous, the data highlighter rich snippet tool only supported event data. Now, Google has added Articles, Local Businesses, Movies, Products, Software Applications and TV Episodes to the list.

Hey Barry, the 'Products' link lands on a 404. Just throwing you a heads up while it's early.

It still doesn't seem to highlight star rating reviews though, I usually want to highlight those more than any other element

Anybody have a clue if the Movie data type will work for normal videos as well.. Or is just for full-length movies?

From the Data Highlight dropdown in WMT the list includes Restaurants as well.
