Asteroid 2012 DA14I am seeing signs of a Google logo, aka Doodle coming towards Google.com sometime around 19:25 UTC or 2:25pm EDT. The Doodle will represent the Asteroid named 2012 DA14 that is headed near earth and set to pass by earth at around 2:25pm EDT.

The asteroid will come about 21,160 miles from earth and be the largest on record that came this close to earth. 2012 DA14, a 50 meters (160 ft) and an estimated mass of 190,000 metric tons, will pass by earth and be visible (barely) for people to see (not with their naked eye). The best observation point is Indonesia.

I'd expect Google to have a special Doodle for the event and I think I found it.

As you can see, the "g" in the Google logo has some nice feet work here. There are 235 frames in this animated GIF. What does 235 represent? Nothing as far as I can tell, which is disappointing.

That being said, keep an eye out for this Google Asteroid Doodle.
