Google Does Remove Malware Results Fast

I received a tip yesterday via a DigitalPoint Forums thread that Google was showing a lot of malware for certain keywords, including a search for [racketeering]. When you searched for these results, Google was showing search results that contained spyware and malware.

This was posted at DigitalPoint Forums at about 3pm yesterday. I confirmed seeing the spyware/malware results in Google around 4pm yesterday. I knew Google was quick at malware detection and removal, so I thought it would be a good test to see how long it will last. I did not notify Google, I did not flag the thread - all I did was wait. Now, this morning, less than 24 hours since the results were first spotting in Google, they are now gone.

So yes, Google malware detection is faster and better. Although the report offensive images is not something that Google has somewhat automated yet.

I think images are going to be hard to crack. Google has acquired numerous image companies and they are working on in full time but it's not as simple or easy as plain simple text. Once it is fixed it will be great marketing tool and big step for others to follow.

I can contribute another example: I notice that some of the image results are being "hijacked" by malicious Websites, e.g. Googling "tibetan tattoo(s)" in "Web" mode returns a page with 5-6 image results, and a few of these are not linked correctly, i.e. clicking on an image may take me to an image result page that shows the correct image src URL in the upper frame, but in the lower frame incorrectly displays an unrelated (malicious?) Website in lieu of the site where the image actually appears. AND THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS, so I cannot agree that "Google Does Remove Malware Results Fast"! On a lighter note I'd like to say that life is stern and life is hard, but let us not be too serious about it! I hope we can all have a co(s)mic day :-) Yours, Tibetalia
