Ever wonder why Google has a display URL character limit? Besides for it looking ugly, it can seriously make the search results page look weird.
A HighRankings Forum thread reports one user seeing such a long display URL and taking a screen shot. Below is a copy of that screen shot and look how the ads get pushed into the organic results:
How pretty! I tried to replicate the issue myself and I was not able to. Was this a Google bug or a bug with a browser extension that this user is using? If I had to guess, it seems to be browser extension related and not a Google bug.

hey, i think it's the seoquake plugin who shows the landingpage URL which is unusually long. Normal users of course only see the display url. With such a URL u would get a nice CTR i think ;)

This happens to me sometimes. I'm using the Seoobok extension and yet, this is extension is the cause (in my case).

Yes, this is definitely a plug-in and not the AdWords display URL.

Appearance is only the reason?
