Google Flooding Web With Nexus One Ads?

A WebmasterWorld thread has both publishers, advertisers and searchers complaining about the number of ads they see for the Google Nexus One phone on the internet. Yes, it is no surprise the Nexus One ads are shown on the Google home page. But they are all over every AdSense spot I can find. Of course, not 100% of the time, but extremely often.

Here are two pictures of the ads:

I couldn't believe I was actually adding "google.com" into my competitive ad filter.

Have you gone to that extreme?

I wonder if I put a Google AdSense unit below this line, if it will show a Nexus One ad? It is contextual relevant, no?

I didn't get a nexus one ad in the 'test' adsense unit :) and in fact I haven't seen a single Nexus one ad on the net yet... must be livin under a rock or in deepest darkest Africa.

I have gotten a few and I don't really mind it. Google looks at itself as having access to a very large chunk of the internet and will post it's product accordingly.

I get them all the time on my sites, and I guess if Google is paying me well for it, or fair in relation to other ads then I don't have an issue. But if they are not, then I have a huge issue with it and would probably block them as well.

The way I LOOK AT IT, ITS ADVERTISING EITHER WAY.

The flood of Nexus One ads certainly shows the amount of inventory Google runs on a daily basis without any revenue. Everyone knows Google ain't giving away virtual real estate unless it doesn't generate revenue.

I have 3 sites with Google Adsense. I worked very hard to jam pack the pages with keywords and meta tags and from the get go my Google ads were right on target. There were always athletic ads on the sorts pages, and even an article about a dance troupe coming to our town got ads about dance classes and dance ware. Then the Google Nexus came out. Now I see NOTHING but Nexus ads. True I did go to the Nexus site once. But the ads frequency is overkill! Oddly enough though my earnings are up... but I've only been using Adsense for about 2 months, so it's no where near stable.
