* Defined goals * Keyword and competitive research * A content outline * Evaluation of technical issues * Offsite marketing

I think this goes when tackling any sort of business. Doing your homework is a very big component in growing a business. It is important to look at every aspect and every angle so you are not blind sided with anything down the road.
