Internet Cafe Owner Receives Google AdSense Ban

A WebmasterWorld thread tells a story of a Google AdSense publisher who used his "60 internet kiosks and cafes around Las Vegas," as a means of generating some more side cash for those kiosks.

What he did was default the kiosks to a page which had AdSense on it and a Google search feature, powered by AdSense for Search.

Technically, doing that is just fine. But I suspect the suspicious high volume of clicks from the same IP blocks, over time, raised a red flag.

He explained he made about $10 to $20 per day, mostly from the search side. He said, "People from the kiosk did about 150 searches per day and check out my Vegas website." He emailed Google early telling them about his situation, which they cleared. But then soon after, he found himself banned from AdSense.

He is obviously frustrated.

Google is suppossed to be this great green company. I've done business with many people over the years. Nobody has ever treated me this bad and ripped me off like this before.

Forum discussion at WebmasterWorld.

Good idea. How about doing this at college labs stations?

On a good day I can make $3 on Adsense on 50 unique visits. Google would not be Google if they did stamp out grey-areas. I pay out much on Google Adwords and I expect Goolge to give me quality clicks back and police their system so. I’m frustrated that he actually got away with it for a while.

"I’m frustrated that he actually got away with it for a while" I dont think he got away with anything. He provided highly targeted ads to advertisers? Google made a mistake by banning him. A flaw in their system.

ppplease its a legitamate concern. And this blogger is just trying to profit from this misfortune...worse than google which defrauds publishers and google doesnt refund those poor advertisers for the "false" clicks! it still bills the advertiser. Ummm, a disgusting win-win for a Capital Pig company, that not only doesnt list a Phone #, but not even a decent email! And we all have seen there Lavish Office compounds!
